Summer Reading Program

Our summer reading program runs from July 5 to August 16. Readers can either record the minutes they read/listen to books online at mountvernonwa.beanstack.org or they can participate on paper and complete a bingo card. Everyone who participates receives a free book, while supplies last.


Summer Events Include:

  • Color by Numbers Scavenger Hunt (runs July 5 - August 16)
  • Chalk the Riverwalk - July 15, 2pm
  • Storybook Yoga & Storywalk Launch - July 28, 2pm at Hillcrest Park
  • Kindness Rocks! (rock painting) - August 5, 2pm outside the Library
  • Tie-Dye* -  August 10, drop-in between 12-4 at Tri-Dee Parking Lot
    • Pre-registration starting July 5 is required for this event so we can get you the correct shirt size

Summer Reading Preview

Learn how to participate and get a sneak peak at the summer events this year.


This year's theme, "Reading Colors your World," focuses on colors and the many ways that reading can expand your world. We encourage readers to get creative, try new things, explore art and find beauty in diversity.

Storytime To Go

While the library is closed to the public, we’ll be offering Storytime To Go - online weekly read alouds and activities for you to share at home with your kiddos. 


Each week on Tuesday, we’ll be posting a link to an online story and movement, math, and hands on activities. You’ll be able to enjoy a storytime experience in the comfort of your own home, and as your schedule allows.
