Large Projects

 Downtown Flood Protection Project

The final phase of this project will build a levee and floodwall from the Downtown Riverwalk at Kincaid Street to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project is estimated at approximately $6 Million and work will begin in March of 2017.

College Way Widening at I-5

This project includes adding two lanes of traffic under I-5 on College Way. It is currently in the design phase and construction is expected to begin in 2017.

Laventure and Section St Intersection Improvements

This project includes adding a traffic signal at this intersection. It is currently in design phase and construction is expected to begin in 2017.

Hoag Road Sidewalk and Bike Lane

This project includes adding sidewalk on the south side of Hoag Road east of Urban Avenue for about 550-feet to eliminate a gap in the sidewalk system. This project is complete with the exception of some landscaping.

Annual Programs

 2016 Street Improvements (REET)

The 2016 Street Improvements project includes overlay and/or restoration of selected streets with construction estimated to be complete by the end of summer 2016.

2016 Sanitary & Storm Sewer Lining

The 2016 Sanitary Sewer and Storm Lining Project includes cleaning lines, video inspection, and installation of a sewer liner.

Michels Pipe Services will begin lining pipes in various areas throughout Mount Vernon on February 27, 2017, continuing through March 28, 2017. Working hours are 8:00 pm to 7:00 am, due to the location of work in high volume traffic areas.
