The Mount Vernon City Library is seeking applications for an open seat on the Library Board of Trustees.
The Mount Vernon City Library Board of Trustees is a dynamic five-member board, and is responsible for developing Library policies and procedures and acts as an advisory board to City Council on matters relating to the Library. There is no financial compensation for this position, but there is ample opportunity for meaningful public service. Library Board terms are five years, and Board Members can serve a maximum of two terms. Meetings are held on the first or second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m.
Interested applicants should be people who are passionate about libraries and the work that they do in their communities. Board members should also value intellectual freedom and be willing to advocate for the Library.
