Join Washington State Poet Laureate Tod Marshall for a free poetry workshop (for ages 13+). Marshall, a poet and professor at Gonzaga University, is the author most recently of Bugle (2014), which won the Washington State Book Award in 2015.

After an unfortunate encounter with a box of Oreos Ms. Lillian Boxfish, a remarkable octogenarian, takes a late-night stroll New Year’s Eve 1984. So is the setup for Kathleen Rooney’s new novel based on the life of Margaret Fishback a 1930s Macy’s ad exec and highest paid female copywriter in the world. “The point of living in the world is just to stay interested,” Lillian thinks at one point during the novel and this is easy enough to do with the fascinating Ms. Boxfish.
