RFQ Water Inspired Feature

August 1, 2016

The Mount Vernon Arts Commission is pleased to invite practicing Washington State artists to submit qualifications and proposal for a site-specific art installation situated in the newly completed Skagit Riverwalk Park in downtown Mount Vernon, immediately adjacent to the Skagit River. The intent is for a "water-inspired work of art". The sponsors encourage proposals that are mindful of the Skagit River’s significance to Mount Vernon and the Skagit Valley as a    whole. Should an artist’s proposal include the active use of water, both non-potable water and electricity are available at the designated site.

DEADLINE: Wednesday, September 14, 2016; all application materials must be received by this deadline; not a postmark deadline.

The Art Project Budget of $30,000 is inclusive of design, fabrication, delivery to the City, installation, travel & Washington State sales tax. The artist selected will be required to provide design plans, fabrication, and installation of a fully functioning water inspired work of art.

The Installation Budget of $5,000 is a supplement to the Art Project Budget and shall be reimbursed by the City upon receipt of written invoices from the Artist for installation costs only up to a maximum of $5,000.
