The City has received a $1.3 million grant from the state Transportation Improvement Board to signalize and make improvements at the intersection, which carries the highest traffic volume at a stop sign controlled intersection in the City; about 17,000 to 21,000 vehicles per day. Improvements will include a new signal, pavement restoration, sidewalk improvements and extensions, underground utilities, a new bus stop, and other amenities.
