Outdoor Education After School Program: Survival Club2023-01-02T16:00:00A fun-filled weekly afternoon program, focusing on wilderness skills. Through hands-on experiences, students will learn a variety of skills, including shelter building, navigation, identification of edible and poisonous plants, wilderness first aid, and advanced fire making techniques, including friction fire. Not only can these skills be practical, they are also fun to learn, and build confidence, perseverance, and a strong connection to nature. During the Fall, our curriculum will focus on shelter building, nature observation, and navigation, in order to prepare for winter. In Winter, students will build upon the skills they learned in the Fall, to build and tend fires, and work on advanced fire techniques. We will also work indoors on our nature observation journals, enhance skills through purposeful games, and practice wilderness first aid.

08 AKC/CGC Workshop
AKC/CGC Workshop2023-01-08T10:00:00The CGC test is the next step after obedience training to show the world that you have a solid, stable and well-mannered dog and that you are a responsible dog owner. This AKC title is available for all dogs, purebred or mixed breed, all ages and sizes. The workshop and class are offered in a two part options. The workshop will be offered on one week and the test will be offered the 2nd week. The workshop is optional and the test may be taken independently of the workshop. This one hour workshop will help participants learn and practice the 10 different categories of the test. You will see your dog’s strengths and weaknesses, which you can work to improve, prior to the actual test. You will learn the best way to prepare for and pass the test.The workshop is optional and does not guarantee that you will pass the actual test. You can start preparing for the test immediately by going to the AKC website AKC.org . Go to CGC testing to view the 10 test categories.

Doggie Tune Up Workshop2023-01-29T13:00:00Has your doggie school graduate become a little complacent and sloppy on their once sharp obedience commands? It may be time for a Tune Up! Puppies and older dogs, who have completed at least one obedience course, can benefit from this refresher class. This one time, 90 minute, workshop was designed to add "distance, duration and distractions" to previous learned basic skills. We will practice Recall, Stay and Walking skills and do some trouble shooting on problem behaviors. Dogs and their human companions, will enjoy returning to the classroom and working together again! This is an upbeat and fun class for owners and dogs. Friendly, socialized dogs, of any size or age, are welcome to join this workshop.
