Mount Vernon City Library began curbside service on June 16, and it has been hopping! 344 cars (and 1 bike) have used our curbside service as of June 23!

Each day on average, 316 items are checked out to patrons, 467 items are checked in from our book drops, and 125 new patron requests are placed. On our busiest day to date, Laura clocked 18,780 steps fulfilling curbside orders- that's 8.7 miles!

Please also note that the statewide mask order is effective as of today (June 26), and due to the fact that we will be approaching you to check your ID, masks/cloth face coverings are required. Medical exemptions apply.

Sunday - Monday: Closed
Tuesday - Friday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

THE 2020 MOUNT VERNON CITY LIBRARY SUMMER LIBRARY CHALLENGE BEGINS JULY 1

This summer you can choose your own adventure and participate in our Summer Library Challenge on paper or online! Everyone who participates will receive a free book (while supplies last)!

You can either record the minutes you read/listen to books this summer online at mountvernonwa.beanstack.org, or you can participate on paper and complete a Bingo challenge! Registration opens July 1. Links to download Bingo cards will be also available on our website starting July 1.

Be on the lookout for special online kids programming on Thursdays in July, and Storytime To-Go (weekly readalouds and activities you can do at home) on Tuesdays in July and August!

The Summer Library Challenge is open to youth from birth through age 19.

ADD A FAMILY VEGETABLE SEED PACK TO YOUR CURBSIDE ORDER

Family Vegetable Seed Packs are a collection of ten seasonally appropriate varieties of seeds, complete with a Pacific Northwest growing guide. Seeds are donated by the Skagit Seed Library, High Mowing Organic Seeds and Osborne Seed Co.

The Library has several new books available for checkout via our curbside service! Not sure what you want? We are happy to personal shop for you. Email or call the library at (360) 336-6209, we'll ask you a few questions about your reading preferences, and our library staff will personally select some books for you.

HOLIDAY HOURS

Mount Vernon City Library will be closed Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Curbside pickup will be unavailable on these days, but book drops will be open.
