Adopt a Periodical

Budget cuts caused by the pandemic mean no periodical subscription renewals for the coming year. You can be part of an effort to keep the periodical section of the library current by “adopting” a magazine through the Mount Vernon Library Foundation.

Want to help? Adopting a periodical is easy.
Simply follow these steps:

1) Visit mvlibraryfoundation.org/adopt-a-periodical

2) Scan the list of magazines and pick one or more of your favorites that you want to see current issues of in the library

3) Click the button to be taken to the donation page, fill out the form, and donate the cost of a year’s subscription

If you would like to adopt a title that is not on the list, send an email to info@mvlibraryfoundation.org and they will have someone check availability and get back with you. Undesignated donations are also welcome.

Your donation will be honored with your name on a shelf label.

The Bakerview Park Gate Is Now Open!

The gate at Bakerview Park, which has been closed due to staffing cuts, has returned to daily opening and closing in order to compensate for road work along East Fir Street.

Parking inside the gate will be available approximately 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily, but could at times be delayed due to the construction project. Please be patient when visiting the park. Your cooperation with the 8 p.m. closing time will be key to continuing vehicle access.

Next time you are at Bakerview Park, be sure to stop by the Little Free Library, located near the playground and bathrooms. Feel free to take any titles that peak your interest, but if you have books to donate, especially kid's books, please feel free to restock the Little Free Library as well. The more people that participate in not only taking, but giving books, the better!
