100 Letters Could = $10 Million

This year we are applying for a Raise Grant. This grant is big (like $10 million big), and we need your support to be competitive. 100 emails/letters from the community could be the difference between 84% funded and 98% funded. 

Any letter is awesome, but we have a templated one you can use (or use the talking points below). Just remember to add your name and make it your own.

Send any letters to mvlibrary@mountvernonwa.gov or MVCL 315 Snoqualmie St, Mount Vernon, WA 98273, so we can make a big community packet. The deadline is April 10th. 

Talking Points to Use

Here are some highlights of the transportation aspect of the project to consider including in your letter:

• 75 EV stations 
• It incentivizes community reinvestment by putting parking where housing and business are currently under construction.
• Provides access for reliable EV charging 
• Provides enhanced bus and rail access 
• Enhances key green highway / green corridor goals 
• The project is nearly 40% better than the current code for energy use. 
• Carbon reducing green construction techniques.
