One year ago, the Mount Vernon Library Commons opened to the public for the first time. Although we still have a few things to finish (namely, the kitchen), we are incredibly grateful for the community's support.
Over the last year, the building has won three architectural awards to date and has become the first PHIUS-certified library in the United States.
We have had our highest use in more than a decade, with so many people reconnecting with library services. In the months ahead, I plan to share many of those wonderful stories.
For now, thank you to everyone in our library community.
Sincerely,
Isaac Huffman
Library Director
