Walk into the Mount Vernon Library Commons on any given day, and you’ll see something extraordinary. Our facility is a vital hub where:

• Kids discover the magic of reading during Storytime.

• Students access essential resources for college exams and academic success.

• Aspiring entrepreneurs learn the skills needed to launch their new businesses.

• Retirees explore new passions, from local history to fiction.

This, and so much more, happens daily right here in Mount Vernon.

The Challenge We Face

While the incredible programs and services of the Mount Vernon Library Commons are free to the public, they are not free to provide. Many of the vital resources our community relies on require financial support beyond what City Funding can cover.

For years, the Mount Vernon Library Foundation—the fundraising partner of the Mount Vernon Library Commons—has been dedicated to ensuring our library has the resources it needs to support every person walking through its doors.

Support Critical Library Programming

This holiday season, your support is crucial. Next year, the library is working to create a lasting programming series for the community but is currently facing a $10,000 programming budget cut.

We must raise $5,000 by December 31st. This support is urgently needed to ensure our Mount Vernon Library Commons can meet the growing demands of our community, and to fill the gap in our programming budget.
