  1. Earth Day Celebration - Pitch In for Parks!

    Join us on Saturday April 22nd for an Earth Day Celebration! This event combines an opportunity to volunteer and give back to the earth with fun games, activities, and giveaways! This event is great for all ages. Individuals, Families, and Groups who are looking for a fun way to engage on Earth Day are all welcome. Pre-registration is highly encouraged but not required. We will be conducting a "Bio Blitz," along with several stewardship projects in Hillcrest Park. If you want to make a tangible difference in a few hours, this is a great opportunity to do so. We will have FREE trees for adoption, recycled art projects, games, free wildflower seeds, giveaways, and refreshments. Join our community partners, Urban Forest Nursery, Inc. Museum of Northwest Art, National Wildlife Federation Pacific, Skagit County Clean Water, Puget Sound Energy, Skagit Valley Clean Energy Cooperative, Olympia Community Solar, and Skagit Citizen's Climate Education for this fun event!

    Learn how to craft textures with graphite and various drawing tools to create soft as in fur, reflective as in glass or eye, rough as in rusty metal scraps, and hard as in wood. Explore textures on paper and create matte and reflective surfaces with graphite pencils in medium and soft hardness. All materials provided.
