[ARCHIVED] Poetry in Nature

Get outside! Walk some trails! Read poetry! During the month of May, you can combine all three activities by participating in “Poetry in Nature.” Poems written by noted NW poets, Spanish poems and poems written by area children will be featured on three Mount Vernon trails—Nature Trail and Viewpoint Trail on Little Mountain and Trumpeter Trail between Section and Division.

Please join us on Monday, May 2nd, at 6:30pm, as we kick-off this great project at the Mount Vernon City Library. There will be readings by several of the notable Northwest poets featured in “Poetry in Nature.” All the poems were donated by Northwest poets, including three WA Poet Laureates -- Sam Green, Kathleen Flenniken and Elizabeth Austen.

This project is sponsored by the City of Mount Vernon, Skagit Regional Health, Mount Vernon City Library, Friends of the Mount Vernon Library, and Calling All Colors, Skagit Valley College.
