Police-Citizens Academy
In 2026, the Mount Vernon Police Department will host its 31st annual Citizens Academy class. Citizens Academy is a 12-week program, starting in late January and running until mid April. Students are required to attend class from 6:30p - 9:30p every Thursday night during the academy, with a Saturday afternoon mock scene day in mid April. If you're interested, applications are now available online or at the Mount Vernon Police Department.
