Critical Areas & Shoreline Master Plan

Certain activities near the Skagit River are regulated by the City's Shoreline Master Plan that can be viewed at the following hyperlink:

In addition, the City regulates the following critical areas:

  • Aquifer Recharge Areas;
  • Steep slopes;
  • Streams; and,
  • Wetlands.

The Skagit River, a major salmon system, flows through the City along with a number of other fish bearing streams. In addition, wetlands and steep slopes are located throughout the City.
