All complaints of alleged employee misconduct—including anonymous complaints—are accepted and may be submitted in person, in writing, electronically, or by phone. No one will be discouraged from filing a complaint. Complaints are handled objectively, impartially, and promptly. Matters may be resolved informally when appropriate or formally through a Citizen Complaint form. Investigations may proceed even if the form is unsigned, and all forms are subject to Public Disclosure Law. In serious cases, the Department may seek independent review.
